Etowah sits along US Highway 411 in southeastern Tennessee, about 20 miles south of Cleveland and 15 miles north of Athens. Most visitors reach the city via I-75 to Exit 49, then west on Highway 30 to US 411. McMinn County Airport is located right outside town for private aircraft. The restored 1906 L&N railroad depot downtown now serves as the visitor center and local history museum.
