Erskine is a small farming town of 427 people in northwestern Minnesota's Polk County, about 30 miles southeast of Grand Forks. Highway 2 runs right through town, connecting it east to Bemidji and west toward Grand Forks. The grain elevator visible from the highway serves as both a landmark and the heart of the local agricultural community.
