Equality is a small farming town in southern Illinois, 15 miles west of Harrisburg on Route 13. Take I-57 to Exit 71 near Marion, then Route 13 east for 20 miles. The Harrisburg-Raleigh Airport is 18 miles northeast. The town got its distinctive name from early settlers who wanted to represent democratic ideals of equal opportunity.
