Epping is a tiny farming town of 124 people in northwestern North Dakota, 25 miles north of Williston via Highway 85. State Highway 5 runs east-west through town, connecting to Ray and other prairie communities. Most trips are short local runs, though longer routes head south to Williston for major services and highway connections. The town's grain elevator towers over the surrounding wheat fields, visible for miles across the flat prairie landscape.
