Ephraim is a small lakefront village in Door County known for its Norwegian heritage and historic white buildings along Green Bay's western shore. Highway 42 provides the main access from Sturgeon Bay, about 45 miles from Green Bay through scenic cherry orchards and limestone bluffs. The village maintains a unique distinction as one of the few remaining dry communities in Wisconsin, prohibiting alcohol sales since its Moravian founding in 1853.
