English is a small Crawford County town of about 1,000 people in southern Indiana's hill country. State Road 37 runs north-south through town, connecting to Interstate 64 for longer trips to Evansville or Louisville, while locals often head north 15 miles to Paoli for services. The area features rolling hills and farmland typical of the Ohio River valley region. English maintains one of Indiana's last operating one-room schoolhouse museums.
