Emmett is a small agricultural town about 30 miles northwest of Boise via Highway 16, serving as Gem County's seat. Most visitors take I-84 to Exit 33 near Caldwell, then follow Highway 16 west through orchard country. The town sits in Idaho's Treasure Valley with hot summers and mild winters. Emmett hosts an annual Cherry Festival each June celebrating the thousands of cherry trees that bloom throughout the valley.
