Elvaston is a farming community of 163 people in western Illinois, about 15 miles from the Mississippi River. Highway 96 runs through town, connecting to Highway 61 near Keokuk, Iowa. Most visitors arrive via Highway 61 from Quincy or Burlington, then head inland on local roads. The town's grain elevator serves as a landmark visible across the surrounding farmland.
