Elmwood is a farming community of 2,300 people sitting 20 miles northwest of Peoria in central Illinois corn country. Most folks get there via Route 78 from Peoria or take I-74 to the Princeville exit and head north. The town centers around a restored 1920s movie theater called the Elmwood Opera House that still puts on live shows.
