Elmer is a tiny farming community of 24 people in north-central Missouri's Macon County. Reach it via US Highway 63 or State Route 156, with Kirksville Regional Airport 25 miles northeast. Most traffic involves short trips to nearby Macon or longer hauls to Kirksville for services. The village preserves a one-room schoolhouse that served students from 1882 to 1967.
