Ellis is a small Kansas town right off Interstate 70, making it a handy pit stop between Kansas City and Denver. US Highway 183 runs north-south through town, connecting local farming communities. The area is classic Great Plains territory with wheat fields and cattle ranches stretching to the horizon. The original 1867 railroad depot still stands downtown and operates as a museum celebrating the town's Union Pacific Railroad heritage.
