Elko is a tiny rural community in South Carolina's Barnwell County, home to about 300 people. Located 15 miles southeast of Barnwell via US Highway 78, it's easily reached from Augusta, Georgia (30 miles east) or through State Route 64 from Blackville. The restored 1920s railway depot marks the town's railroad heritage along the old Charleston and Western Carolina line.
