Elkhorn is the Walworth County seat, located 45 miles southwest of Milwaukee and 90 miles from Chicago. Highway 11 runs east-west through town, while Highway 67 provides the main north-south connection. Most visitors arrive via I-94 from Milwaukee or I-90/Highway 12 from Chicago. The town sits amid Wisconsin's lake country with rolling farmland and small lakes throughout the area. The 1897 Walworth County Courthouse anchors downtown with its distinctive red sandstone clock tower.
