Elizabeth is a tiny Harrison County community of 168 people in southern Indiana's Ohio River valley. Take State Road 62 west from I-64 to reach it, about 40 miles from Louisville. The area sits along rolling hills where central Indiana's farmland meets the river valley topography. Elizabeth's claim to fame is its position along the historic Buffalo Trace, the ancient bison path that became a major route for Native Americans and early settlers crossing southern Indiana.
