Elizabeth is a small farming town of 775 people in northwestern Illinois' rolling hills, about 15 miles from Galena via US Route 20. The main routes are US 20 east-west and Illinois Route 78 north-south, with Route 20 connecting to Interstate 39 near Rockford for longer trips. The town sits in the scenic Driftless Area along Apple River, and its historic grain elevator still marks the former railroad line.
