Elim is a remote Iñupiaq village of 383 people on Alaska's Seward Peninsula, about 96 miles east of Nome. There are no roads here - you fly into Elim Airport or travel by snow machine in winter. The community sits where the Kwiniuk River meets Norton Sound, creating excellent fishing that has sustained families for over a thousand years.
