Elida is a small farming community in west-central Ohio, about 8 miles southeast of Lima. Take I-75 to the Lima exits, then follow local roads like State Route 309 east to reach town. The area sits on flat agricultural plains with a typical Midwest climate. Most long-distance visitors come via I-75 from Columbus (2 hours north) or Cincinnati (2.5 hours south), while locals make quick trips to Lima on County Road 199. The town runs its own municipal electric utility, unusual for a community of just over 2,100 people.
