Eldorado is a small southern Illinois city of about 3,800 people, located 15 miles southwest of Harrisburg in Saline County. The main route in is State Route 142, which connects to US Route 45 near Harrisburg for access to Interstates 64 and 57. Harrisburg-Raleigh Airport is about 20 miles northeast for regional flights. The town is home to the historic Saline County Courthouse, built in 1859, which still serves as the county seat with its distinctive Greek Revival architecture.
