Elberta is a small farming town in southern Alabama, about 45 miles south of Mobile and 15 miles inland from Gulf Shores. Most visitors arrive via Highway 59 from Interstate 10 or Interstate 65, then take Highway 104 west from Foley. The town of 2,300 sits among pecan groves and farmland in Baldwin County. Every March, Elberta celebrates its German heritage with a sausage festival honoring the immigrants who founded this agricultural community in 1903.
