Ekron is a tiny farming community in Meade County, about 35 miles southwest of Louisville via State Route 144. Most visitors arrive from Louisville using I-264 west to I-265, then US-31W south to KY-144 west. The town of 130 people sits in rolling farmland near Fort Knox, with limited services but easy access to the Western Kentucky Parkway system. Ekron gets its unusual name from an ancient biblical Philistine city.
