Egg Harbor is a small lakeside village in Door County that sits along Green Bay's western shore. You'll reach it via Highway 42, the main peninsula route that connects all Door County towns from Sturgeon Bay north to Washington Island. Most visitors drive up from Green Bay in about 45 minutes or make the longer trip from Milwaukee via I-43. The village sits in a natural harbor between wooded bluffs and serves as a convenient base for exploring the peninsula's attractions. The name comes from an 1825 surveying expedition that lost their breakfast supplies, including eggs, in rough water here.
