Edwardsville is the Madison County seat, located 20 miles northeast of St. Louis via Interstate 55. Take Exit 269 for Route 143 to reach downtown, or use Route 159 for a scenic approach through Glen Carbon. The city anchors the Metro East region and connects easily to the St. Louis beltway system through Interstate 270. The restored 1930s courthouse square features a clock tower that has chimed every quarter hour for over 90 years.
