Edison is a tiny farming town of 147 people in south-central Nebraska, sitting right on US Highway 34. The highway connects it east to Grand Island and Hastings (about 60 miles) and west toward Colorado. State Highway 23 runs north-south through town. Most traffic consists of long-distance travelers and agricultural haulers since the town is too small for much local commuting. Edison sits on the original Lincoln Highway, America's first coast-to-coast auto route.
