Edina is an upscale Minneapolis suburb just southwest of the city, easily reached via I-494 or Highway 62. The community of 53,000 sits on former prairie land with good highway access to downtown Minneapolis and MSP Airport. Southdale Center here was the world's first enclosed shopping mall when it opened in 1956.
