Edgerton is a tiny Wyoming community of 87 people, located 25 miles southwest of Casper via Highway 220. The route passes through high plains ranch country at 5,400 feet elevation, with cold winters and warm summers. Long-distance travelers use it as a waypoint on the historic Oregon Trail corridor, while locals make regular trips to Casper for services. The town still operates one of Wyoming's few remaining one-room schoolhouses.
