Edgerton is a farming town of about 500 people in northwestern Missouri, 30 miles north of Kansas City. Take I-29 north to the Dearborn exit, then head west on Highway 273. Most traffic consists of local trips to nearby Platte City or recreational visits to Smithville Lake. The town's grain elevator still dominates the skyline after more than a century.
