Edgar is a small farming town in central Wisconsin's Marathon County, about 20 miles west of Wausau via Highway 29. The main routes are Highway 29 running east-west and Highway 97 going north-south, with most longer trips connecting to Interstate 39 through Wausau. The area features rolling agricultural land with dairy farms and crop fields. Edgar hosts an annual Tractor Pull competition at the county fairgrounds that attracts participants from across the upper Midwest.
