Edgar is a farming town of 500 in south-central Nebraska, reachable via US Highway 6 running east-west through town. Highway 6 connects to Hastings 25 miles east and Minden to the west, while State Highway 14 provides north-south access. Most trips are short runs to nearby farms or Clay Center 15 miles northeast, though some travelers use Highway 6 to reach Interstate 80 about 40 miles away. The town's grain elevator towers over the flat farmland, visible for miles as a landmark across Clay County's agricultural plains.
