Eclectic is a small lakeside town of about 1,100 people sitting on Lake Martin, 30 miles northeast of Montgomery via US 231 and Highway 63. Most visitors come for the lake's 750-mile shoreline and recreational opportunities. The town got its unusual name from early settlers who described the diverse mix of people who gathered here as "eclectic."
