Easton is the Eastern Shore's main hub, about 70 miles from Baltimore via the scenic Chesapeake Bay Bridge on US Route 50. The historic county seat connects to waterfront towns like St. Michaels and serves weekend visitors from D.C. and Baltimore. The 1794 Talbot County Courthouse remains the town's centerpiece and one of Maryland's oldest working courthouses.
