Eagar is a mountain town in eastern Arizona's White Mountains, sitting at 7,000 feet where pines replace desert. US Highway 60 is the main route, connecting to Show Low (40 miles west) and Phoenix (200 miles southwest). Most visitors drive up from Phoenix for cooler weather, while locals make short trips to neighboring Springerville. The town has one of Arizona's few ice skating rinks.
