Duson is a small Lafayette Parish town of about 1,300 people sitting on US Highway 90, roughly 15 minutes west of Lafayette. It's a convenient pit stop on the busy corridor between Lafayette and Lake Charles, with easy access from I-10 via several exits. The flat Cajun prairie landscape and roadside businesses cater to both local traffic and long-distance travelers heading toward Texas. Duson is known as the birthplace of Lafayette Parish's traditional courir de Mardi Gras celebration.
