Dunlap is a small Iowa farming town of about 1,170 people in Harrison County, an hour northeast of Omaha. Highway 30 runs east-west through town, connecting to Denison and Interstate 80. Most visitors come via I-80 Exit 40 near Dow City, then drive north 10 miles on local roads. The town sits in rolling agricultural country with hot summers and cold winters. Its 1904 Carnegie Library, funded by Andrew Carnegie himself, still operates as the community's main library.
