Dunkerton is a small farming town of 821 people in northeast Iowa's Black Hawk County, about 15 miles northwest of Waterloo. Highway 281 runs through town and connects to US 20, the main route to Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Interstate 380. The historic grain elevator still towers over Main Street, serving local farmers just as it has for decades.
