Dunbar is a tiny farming town in southeastern Nebraska, about 30 miles from Lincoln and 50 miles from Omaha. Take Highway 2 east from Lincoln or Highway 75 south from Omaha through Plattsmouth. The century-old grain elevator still towers over the surrounding cornfields, serving as both a working facility and a landmark visible for miles across the Great Plains.
