Duffield is a tiny mountain community in far southwest Virginia, near the Kentucky and Tennessee borders. US Route 58 provides the main access, connecting east to Jonesville and eventually Interstate 81 near Abingdon about 45 miles away. The area sits in an Appalachian valley where the North and South Forks of the Powell River meet to form the main Powell River.
