Du Pont is a tiny Georgia city in Clinch County near the Florida border, accessible via State Route 11 from Valdosta (30 miles southeast) or longer routes from I-75. The area features pine forests, farms, and the Alapaha River valley's agricultural landscape. The city was named after the DuPont Company's former lumber mill that processed timber from the surrounding pine forests.
