Dry Prong is a small Louisiana town of 369 people in Grant Parish, about 45 miles northwest of Alexandria via US 167 and Highway 126. The rural community sits among pine forests and farmland in central Louisiana's timber country. Most visitors arrive from Alexandria or take US 71 south from Shreveport. The town gets its memorable name from a local creek that runs dry in summer.
