Drumright sits in central Oklahoma's oil country, about 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Take I-35 north from OKC to I-44 west, then Highway 99 north, or use Highway 33 west from Tulsa through Sapulpa. The town got its name from the drumming sound of oil derricks during the early 1900s boom, and original wooden derricks still stand downtown.
