Dover is a small farming community in eastern North Carolina, about 15 miles southwest of New Bern on US Highway 70. Most people pass through on their way between Kinston and the coast, though some take NC 55 north toward La Grange. The nearest airport is Kinston Regional, about 20 miles west. The area features typical coastal plain scenery with tobacco fields, pine forests, and old farmhouses. Dover still operates one of North Carolina's oldest continuous tobacco warehouses from the early 1900s.
