Douglas is a small south Georgia city of about 12,000 people, positioned where US Highways 441 and 32 intersect. Most visitors arrive via US 441 from Tifton (30 miles north) or continue south toward the Florida border. The city serves as Coffee County's seat in Georgia's warm coastal plain region. Douglas proudly calls itself the "Tobacco Capital of Georgia," with a downtown museum showcasing the area's agricultural history.
