Double Oak is a small Texas city about 30 miles northwest of Dallas in Denton County's rolling hills. Most visitors take I-35W north to Exit 76, then head west on FM 407 for 8 miles. The drive from Dallas takes about 45 minutes, while locals use FM 407 as their main east-west route connecting to Flower Mound and Lewisville. The city incorporated in 1977 and got its name from two distinctive oak trees that marked an old Chisholm Trail stagecoach stop.
