Double Horn is a tiny Hill Country community of about 400 people, roughly 50 miles northwest of Austin via Highway 71 and Ranch Road 2322. Located on Lake Travis shores in Burnet County, it's surrounded by limestone bluffs and cedar hills typical of Central Texas. Most visitors arrive from Austin on Highway 71 or from San Antonio via Highway 281 through Johnson City. The town got its name from a distinctive double-peaked hill that served as a landmark for early settlers.
