Dorris is a small farming town near the Oregon border in California's far north Cascade Range. Highway 97 runs right through it, connecting to Klamath Falls 30 miles north and branching from I-5 at Weed 45 miles south. The town sits at 4,100 feet in high desert country with hot summers and snowy winters. It's the gateway to Tule Lake National Wildlife Refuge, a major stop on the Pacific Flyway for millions of migratory birds.
