Doran is a tiny farming town of 12 people in western Minnesota, right on the North Dakota border. Take Highway 9 west from I-29 near Wahpeton for the most direct route, about 45 minutes from Fargo-Moorhead. The flat Red River Valley prairie stretches endlessly around this remote agricultural community. Despite its size, Doran remains one of Minnesota's smallest official cities.
