Donnellson is a tiny farming community in Montgomery County, about 60 miles south of Springfield via I-55 and Route 16. Most visitors arrive on Route 16 from Litchfield or Route 127 from Hillsboro. The town of 129 sits among corn and soybean fields near Shoal Creek's headwaters, where it began as an 1850s railroad stop.
