Donna is a small Rio Grande Valley city along US Highway 83, about 15 miles west of McAllen. Most visitors drive US 83 from McAllen or take Interstate 2 from Brownsville. The subtropical climate means hot summers and mild winters. The town still operates one of the valley's last remaining drive-in movie theaters.
