Dodd City is a small East Texas town of 503 people, about 70 miles northeast of Dallas via US 75 and US 82. Most visitors drive through on Highway 82 or use Highway 121 for north-south travel toward Oklahoma. The town was named after Elisha Dodd, who opened the area's first store when the railroad arrived in the 1870s.
