Dix is a tiny farming town of 224 people in western Nebraska's panhandle, sitting along US Highway 30 about 15 miles from Colorado. Most visitors reach it via Interstate 80, exiting at Chappell or Big Springs and driving north through rolling wheat country. The town preserves an original Union Pacific railroad depot from the early 1900s.
