Dinosaur sits at Colorado's remote northwest edge, serving as the gateway to Dinosaur National Monument. US Highway 40 runs right through town, connecting east to Craig and west into Utah. Most visitors arrive from Interstate 80 in Wyoming via US 191 and US 40. The town's main drag still displays a collection of vintage neon motel signs from the 1950s highway boom.
